Deutsche Bank appoints Paul van Meurs as Head of Consumer Research

Deutsche Bank today announced the appointment of Paul van Meurs as Head of Consumer Research.

With ten years experience, Mr van Meurs will have primary responsibility for the Food and Beverage stocks and joins existing research analysts Matthew Iser and Alexi Baker in Deutsche Bank’s highly regarded consumer research team.

Mr van Meurs joins Deutsche Bank in Sydney from Deutsche Securities Johannesburg where he was the Head of Industrials Research and covered the beverage and luxury goods sectors.

Head of Company Research, Tim King said, “Paul joins us from Deutsche Securities in South Africa where he headed the Industrial Sector Research team, and has covered South African consumer stocks since 2003. His knowledge of global markets will provide valuable insight to our clients.

“Paul’s appointment signals a strengthening of our growing research team and is the third addition to Deutsche Bank’s Australian equities research platform in the last month,” he concluded.

Prior to joining Deutsche Securities, Paul was at KPMG in Johannesburg and London for five years. He is a qualified CA(SA) and CFA.
